The Power of Words for Healing'Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me'. As a child you probably remember saying that to defend yourself form the hurt of name calling. Sticks and stones may break bones but words wound at a deeper level. The destructive impact of words can resonate within the mind and subconscious long after broken bones have been repaired. this four week sereis focuses on all aspects of words for good or for bad. For those attending it's an opportunity to be released fromt he diminishing effect of hurtful words and to learn a new language of self-affirmation.
Out of The Fiery FurnaceOn the day of the Ash Wednesday fires Roger addressed a Women's Aglow meeting in Kew. The theme was 'Out of the fiery Furnace'. Within hours his words took on a deeper meaning as fire swept through the township of Upper Beaconsfield. It raises the question, 'does god speak to rpepare people for that whichis to come?' In a small township 22 people died and many suffered burns. Two hundred homes were dstroyed. Lives were permanently aaffected through the Ash Wednesday fires. How can we reconcile a loving, creator God to devastation and loss? People respond differently in crisis. In the aftermath of the Ash Wednesday fires some were surpriesed to discover hidden strength,s while others discovered their weaknesses. The firey furnace ordeal of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego was intended for their destruction. They were delivered form it. How can we apply faith for deliverance in times of crisis? In the Ash Wednesday fires some lost everything. It went beyond the ruins of burnt out homes or the loss of personal possessions. Close relatives died in the fires. In the face of disaster does God heal so that wounds are bound up, with peace and prosperity restored? New green life quickly sprouted from the blackened branches of the trees. Out of the ashes homes were also rebuilt and the township restored. Does time heal painful memories, and does God heal the wounds done to the human soul and spirit? Faith Under FireWe have no guarantees that problems won't occur; but we are assured of the saving power of the Cross. Christian healing IS for today! 'You shall not be afraid of any terror by night: or of the arrow that flies by day. Ps 91:5' 'The mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace'. Rom 8:6 'but when he asks, he must believe and not doubt.' James 1:6 'For my power is made perfect in weakness.' 2 Cor 12:8 Please Contact Us if you wish to purchase any of the the resources produced by Southern Cross Ministries. |
